Now everyone insists on knowing your politics and your beliefs before they decide whether to do business with you. They’re all preaching at you, “Join the revolution!” But which revolution, and which side are they on? Do we have to preach back? It may be necessary to
It’s probably better for business to apply the old rule, re-worded slightly.
“I understand your position and respect your right to make your own choices. I would appreciate it if you respected my right to make different choices. Please don’t take it personally, if I choose not to discuss it here and now.” Then, “So let’s get back to business. How can I help you?”
And if you’re still looking for a revolution, you need to get on the AI bandwagon.
Even Bill Gates agrees, “Artificial intelligence will change everything.” More than the personal computer revolution that he was part of, and more than the Internet revolution that he was late to join. “This will change society and the world of work more than the Industrial Revolution did 150 years ago.”
It reminds me of small businesses asking the question twenty-five years ago, “What’s a website and why do I need one?” My consulting advice then was to pay attention to the implications for the business. “Either catch the wave or be swamped by it.”
